There and back again

Yesterday was just a long travel day.  I spent most of it getting ready to go and then in transit.  It doesn't actually take that long by plane but it's the travel back to the city from the airport that draws it out as I don't own a car.

I arrived here at 5:15 and finally got back to my apartment by 7:30.  The bus ride from the airport was long but it's pretty comfortable on the Airport Express bus.  Beats the TTC.  Although to be fair the TTC would be cheaper.  I don't mind paying the $16 for the bus though cause it's much more comfortable and I can sleep on it if necessary.

I had a LOT of fun dragging my suitcase up the stairs to my apartment.  It was definitely one of those days I wished I had an elevator.  Babcia gave me 14 dozen frozen perogies.  My mother gave me a mason jar of her homemade chocolate sauce, two ziplock containers of her turkey soup, a ziplock container of chocolate chip cookies, leftovers from lunch for supper tonight and 6 blocks of cheese from the local cheese farm.  Now I'm not gonna complain about having to lug all this homemade food home but it certainly wasn't easy. I definitely earned it.  I almost feel down the stairs trying to get it up.

When I checked in at the Westjet counter the woman informs me that my bag is almost at the weight restriction and she promptly labelled it HEAVY with a BIG blue sticker.  It seems going home means I always come back with a stuffed suitcase. The darn thing was practically empty when I left to go there.  Ah well at least I have dinner tonight and we can have perogies for Thanksgiving at Kate's.

Today it's back to the ol' grind.
